After having breakfast at the hotel, we move to Sinop. We are going to Hamsilos Fjord, the only fjord in Turkey, with its green-blue, clean air, and natural scenery. Hamsilos location includes Hamsilos Harbor and its immediate surroundings, which is a natural harbor that is stated to be a fjord in many publications based on its resemblance to the fjords in Scandinavia. Hamsilos; Although it looks like a fjord in appearance, it is actually a landform formed when the deeper excavated parts of the Deveci Creek Valley were drowned as a result of the rising sea and turned into a harbor. This formation, known as Hamsilos Fjord, offers us a unique and insatiable visual landscape richness where sea, bay, and green coexist. Then we go to the center of Sinop and after our lunch break, we visit Sinop Prison, which is known for its exiles, the impossibility of escape, and the famous people who were detained there. Historical Sinop Closed Prison, also known as "Anatolia's Alcatraz", is a prison that was closed in 1999 and turned into a museum. The building, which dates back to ancient times, has been the subject of poems and songs. The castle, which hosts the prison, which has sea on three sides and is located within the historical castle walls, was built by the Gaskans, who were the rulers of the region, about 4000 years ago. Greek, Pontus, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottomans protected and strengthened the castle in their own time. The oldest documents regarding the use of the castle as a prison date back to 1568. Evliya Çelebi mentioned this dungeon in his travel book as follows; "It is a big and terrible castle. It has 300 iron gates, gigantic guards, arms tied to iron bars, ten men hanging from each mustache, and many notorious prisoners. The guards roam around its bastions like dragons. God forbid, they don't let prisoners escape, not even a bird." The official transformation of the inner castle into a dungeon was in 1887. At that time, Sinop Governor Veysel Pasha added a bath along with new buildings. In 1939, another building was built to be used as a children's prison. After our prison visit, we visit the Erfelek Tatlıca Waterfalls, which consists of 28 sets of waterfalls of various sizes among lush trees, which were discovered by chance during the road construction of the Erfelek Dam, and we go to our hotel in Kastamonu for dinner and accommodation.
